Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) begins the construction work of an underground section on Janakpuri West- RK Ashram Marg corridor, Phase IV today. "In addition, the entire Janakpuri West - RK Ashram Marg corridor will have three more interchange facilities at Majlis Park (Pink Line), Azadpur (with Yellow Line) and RK Ashram Marg (with Blue Line)", said Anuj Dayal, Executive Director Corporate Communications. In amidst coronavirus pandemic, DMRC at every corner of construction sites have raised awareness through pictorial representations with relevant information to alert the workers about various precautions they are supposed to take . Attractive messages , rhymed couplets filled with humour is being used to spread awareness about a disease.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had started construction worrk of Phase -IV on 30 December 2019 with an expected completion date of 2026 , through 'piling work' at Haiderpur Badli Mor, and Janakpuri West - RK Ashram Marg corridor. Delhi Metro's Phase IV has been approved by Government of Delhi & is expected to add another 103 kilometres in DMRC map. This makes the total length of Delhi Metro at the end of phase IV to exceed 450 kilometres. But due to COVID-19 outbreak the project had kicked off at the end of 2019, said an official. During the lockdown related contraints such difficulty in availiblity of labour and material, DMRC has achieved milestone, casting yard was readied by Delhi Metro within a record of 94 working days.
Resuming the construction services, DMRC on Friday said now afterward Corporation would start producing 56 U-Girders every month at casting yard and in doing this about 2,200 different pre-cast components in total will be required.

Paneling these routes Ramakrishna Asharam Marg metro station after Phase 4 will be an interchange point of the blue and magenta lines, along with Janakpuri West and Botanical Garden Stations.
From here the passengers, will be able to connect South Delhi and Noida via Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1, Hauz, Kalkaji Mandir, Vaishali and Dwarka, said DMRC official.
