On Monday, Delhi reported 12,527 new cases of Covid, with 24 deaths. The percentage of positive is 27.99 percent. According to a press release from the Delhi government, 2,684 Covid patients have been admitted to hospitals across the state. 909 of them are on oxygen and 833 are in the intensive care unit.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 44,762 tests were performed. In total, 18,340 people have been released from hospitals, recovered, or relocated.
Satyendar Jain, the Delhi Health Minister, stated on Monday that the number of new Covid-19 cases has been declining in the city for the past several days. On Sunday, Delhi reported 18,286 Covid-19 cases with a positive rate of 27.87 percent, down from 30.64 percent the day before.
However, the drop in the absolute number of Covid-19 infections was due to fewer tests being completed on Sunday, as reported in the following day's bulletin. Since the new ICMR testing standards were implemented, the number of tests performed in Delhi has decreased. These rules eliminate the testing of asymptomatic persons on demand, low-risk contacts, and asymptomatic patients having other treatments at hospitals.
