The National Testing Agency has rescheduled the exam dates for UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycle. According to the notice, the University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) now will be held on November 20-30 and December 01-05, 2021. The candidates who have applied for the UGC NET 2020/21, now can go through the revised dates as published on the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. A date sheet comprising subject-wise exam dates will be issued in due course of time.
According to the notice, the decision to make changes in the NTA UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycle exam dates is made after the request from the student's community.
"NTA has come to know from the student community that the October 10 examination date is clashing with some major Examinations that also have been scheduled for that day. With a view to ensure larger participation of candidates and to remove the hardship caused to them, it has been decided to reschedule some of the dates of the UGC-NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles," the official notice reads.
According to the new schedule, the University Grants Commission (UGC)-NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles will be held in second half of November and the first week of December The examination will take place in two shifts. Earlier, the same examination was supposed to be held from October 06 to 11, 2021. Later due to a clash with the other exams, students approached the commission demanding changes in the schedule.
October 23: UGC NET new exam dates have been released on the website. Now, the UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 exam will take place on November 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, and December 01, 03, 04, 05, 2021. Subject-wise date sheet is expected in due course.
September 30: The subject-wise exam dates are expected to be released in a day or two. A detailed date-sheet will be intimated at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The students are asked to keep a check on the official website.
NTA will conduct UGC NET in two shifts every day. The first shift examination now will be held from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm and the second shift from 03:00 pm to 06:.00 pm. The date sheet is expected to be released at (ugcnet.nta.nic.in) in due course of time. The details regarding the exam center, date, and shift will be communicated on the admit card.
According to the exam pattern, UGC NET will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type and multiple choice questions. There will be no break between these 2 papers. The questions in Paper 1 (50 questions) intend to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. Whereas, Paper 2 will be based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
