DU Admission 2020: Delhi University refutes claims over Special Cut-off admissions

The University of Delhi on Friday clarifies over media reports claiming beginning of special cut-off admissions. University is yet to publish the Special-Cut off list on displayed vacant seats after 5th Cut off, and refutes the social-media claims.

It has come to the notice of the Admission Branch that some media has reported that the University has commenced the Special Cut-Off. All applicants are hereby notified to neither cancel nor withdraw their admission on the basis of these false reporting, says Delhi University.

The University has displayed vacant seats after the 5th cut-off lists for participating colleges. To fill the vacant seats under Merit based admissions, University to release Special-Cut off for B.A, B.Com, B.Sc (Hons, Program) courses. Following the social-media reports, University was alleged of starting admissions under special cut-off and urged students to withdraw admissions taken under the released cut-off lists.

Refuting the claims, University admission branch denies admissions under the special cut-off list and asks candidates to neither cancel nor withdraw their admission on the basis of these false reporting. Earlier, in an official notice Delhi University decided to postpone the spot-admissions under Merit based admissions through Special Cut-off and Entrance based admissions, after officers tested Covid positive. 

On Thursday, the University at its website du.ac.in, declared the number of seats left vacant in each course after the 5th Cut-Off. The list is available on the website of University of Delhi.

The Admission Branch will notify the Guidelines and the Schedule for the same soon on the website of the University of Delhi, notice adds.
