Salim Merchant told PTI, 'He had multiple issues. He had a kidney problem and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he found out about the kidney infection. He was on the ventilator for the past four days, after his situation worsened. Kidney infection was the beginning and then became critical. Wajid Khan, the popular bollywood music director from the Sajid-Wajid duo passed away today at the age of 42. He was suffering from Covid 19. It is being told that Wajid had also fallen victim to Corona virus, although there is no official confirmation of this.

Wajid Khan was born in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Wajid had been watching music for generations in his home. His father was Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, a well-known tabla player and a music arranger. Wajid's father also worked with many famous musicians in the film industry. At the same time, Wajid Khan's grandfather Ustad Abdul Latif Khan was a musician and player who was awarded the Padma Shri award. Wajid's grandfather used to play Sarangi.
Wajid Khan Starting his career in 1998 with Salman Khan lead character Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Sajid-Wajid made music for many superstar movies, including the Dabangg, Chori Chori, Hello Brother, Wanted, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi franchise.
