Nambi Narayanan, a former rocket scientist of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is the inspiration for the film Rocketry. Along with this, the actioner Om The Battle Within has also been released in theatres this week. Both films, which belong to different genres, will appeal to different audiences. According to film industry analysts, while Rocketry will increase at the box office due to positive word of mouth, Om will witness a higher footfall in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Girish Johar, a film producer and trade expert, says the Madhavan picture is "leaning towards a niche audience" and is not a "hardcore commercial feature." According to him, the film is a bit more upscale and is aimed toward multiplex consumers. Just like OM: The Battle Within, one can expect Rocketry to also open close to ₹1.5-2 Crores

The buzz is mostly positive, especially in the south. Rocketry is going to do well at the box office. The film has received numerous praises from the international community, so things are looking well. For the Hindi belt, word of mouth will be more important, and it should be adequate, to begin with.
