On Thursday, Bollywood lost a gem as veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away after fighting leukemia for two years. The actor was back home and filming for his upcoming movie Sharmaji Namkeen, which is a production by Ritesh Sidhwani and Excel Entertainment by Farhan Akhtar, in which Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla star. Rishi Kapoor, who died Thursday after a two-year battle with cancer, was cremated at the Chandanwadi crematorium in south Mumbai in the presence of a close family.
The movie was almost complete with a couple of days of filming remaining and a reliable source talks about the movie's procedures. The source shared: 'Rishi Kapoor was the main protagonist of the film and most of it was already filmed with only a few days of shooting for the actor. Being that it was the last Rishi Kapoor project to be nearing completion, Ritesh and Farhan are determined to make sure the movie is released. '
The source further shares: 'The microscopic details of how Ritesh and Farhan intend to complete the film are in the works, but you can be sure that the film will be completed and you will see a theatrical release.'
The film is produced by Excel Entertainment in association with Honey Teheran and Abhishek Choubey. The film will also mark Hitesh Bhatia's debut as a director. Rishi, who died Thursday after a two-year battle with cancer, was cremated at the Chandanwadi crematorium in south Mumbai in the presence of close family members. He died at HN Reliance Hospital in South Mumbai at 8.45 at the age of 67. Family members, including his wife Neetu Singh, son Ranbir, Kapoor's brothers Randhir and Rajeev, Kareena Kapoor Khan, along with husband Saif Ali Khan and actor Abhishek Bachchan and Ranbir his girlfriend Alia Bhatt and Anil Ambani were among the few present at the funeral.
