Yesterday, Rhea Chakraborty got arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau for allegedly dealing in and consuming drugs. Rhea was first accused of laundering money from the late actor Sushant Singh's account but later on the case took the drugs angle. And now, the NCB has sent the Jalebi actress to a 14-day trial after her bail plea was rejected.
She will be behind bars until 22 September for allegedly being an active member of the 'drug syndicate'.
Special public prosecutor Atul Sarpande told ANI, "She has been sent to jail upto 22nd of this month. Her bail application has been rejected. Today she will stay here (in NCB office) and will go to jail tomorrow morning."
Meanwhile, Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant's manager Samuel Miranda are already arrested by the NCB in the same case. They are going through some further investigation right now. After the sentencing yesterday, Sushant's sister Shweta Singh thanked all the supporters of the late actor for getting them justice. She tweeted, "God is with us."
