Ranvir Shorey indirectly calls Jaya Bachchan the 'gatekeeper of Bollywood' after she gives a speech defending the industry

After the speech of Jaya Bachchan defending the Bollywood industry, many actors have forward lauding the veteran actor. While actors like Sonam Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Taapsee Pannu hail Jaya Ji for her speech, Kangana Ranaut and Ranvir Shorey think otherwise. Kangana in her tweet slammed Jaya for defending the wrongdoings in the industry by launching personal attacks on her.

Meanwhile, Ranvir Shorey has stepped in and says that he doesn't understand why people are defending the 'muck in Bollywood'. He tweeted, "The ones who come out defending the muck in #Bollywood are either the ‘gatekeepers’, or the ones sucking up to them. If you don’t like someone whistleblowing or using their freedom of expression, you’re free to use your freedom of enabling. Don’t see what the fuss is about."

The whole debate surrounding Bollywood started after the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput when Kangana pinpointed the topics of nepotism, drug mafia and groupism in the industry. It led to a series of the unravelling of dark secrets of the industry and people started looking down on various film stars and directors. Furious by the current happenings, Jaya Bachchan decided to speak for the industry and slammed those who are tarnishing the image of everyone.
