Ranveer Singh's upcoming movie is prepared to release on Christmas in theaters. The makers have decided not to further postpone '83' movie. The movie was postponed due to the coronavirus crisis. After seven months cinemas are going to re-open in most parts of the country and director Kabir Khan is all set to release the movie on Christmas this year.
'83 movie' is directed by Kabir Khan. Ranveer Singh is representing the biopic of legendary Kapil Dev whereas actress Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of Kapil's Dev wife Romi. Movie '83' is based on India's 1983 world cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev against the West Indies. Earlier, the film was set to hit screens on 10th April but due to Covid-19, it was postponed.
The makers of Ranveer Singh's upcoming movie 83 recently released a statement stating "In the wake of the risks posed by the recent outbreak of Covid-19 and the growing health concerns, the release of 83 has been put on hold. We will make a decision regarding the next course of action once the conditions return to normal. We urge our fans to take all the necessary precautions and take care of their loved ones. 83 is a film about fighting the odds and we hope we all will bounce back from this soon.”
The supporting actors of the movie include Adhinath Kothare, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Harrdy Sandhu, Nishant Dahiya, Dinker Sharma, Chirag Patil, Jatin Sarna, Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Dhairya Karwa among others. The above mentioned are the team members of the 1983 cricket team who played the World Cup against West Indies.

Shibashish Sarkar, he is the CEO of Reliance Entertainment and one of the producers of both movies 83 and Sooryavanshi. He stated that "We don't want to change the date of '83 for Sooryavanshi. We are going ahead with a Christmas release for the sports movie and we have to decide on a new date for Sooryavanshi. The latter should hit theatres between January and March next year."
