The film, which revolves around a brother-sister relationship, was officially revealed on 3 August 2020 to commemorate Raksha Bandhan. Raksha Bandhan is the shortest film Akshay Kumar has signed in his career, and he dedicated it to his sister Alka Hiranandani. Rai, Hiranandani, and Zee Studios collaborated on the film's production.
