Aanand L Rai's comedy-drama with Akshay Kumar in the lead was released last week to high anticipation because to the long weekend and Independence Day vacation. The movie's box office performance did not, however, get off to a strong start.
Stunning reviews from critics and positive audience feedback don't seem to have helped the movie. The family comedy-drama directed by Aanand L. Rai made ₹8.20 crores on its opening day but had an unexpected decline on Friday.
A small increase in the collection the following day gave cause for optimism. The movie's Saturday take was estimated to be ₹6.51 crores, which was slightly more than its Friday take of ₹6.40 crores. Only ₹7.05 crores were collected on Sunday, a tiny increase over the previous day's total.
This caused many people to predict that the Monday collection would also increase because of Raksha Bandhan. However, the movie was only able to bring in ₹5.98 crores on the Independence Day holiday. Raksha Bandhan box office collection day 8 report is given here.
|Day 1 [1st Thu]||Aug 11||₹8.2 Cr|
|Day 2 [1st Fri]||Aug 12||₹6.4 Cr|
|Day 3 [1st Sat]||Aug 13||₹6.51 Cr|
|Day 4 [1st Sun]||Aug 14||₹7.05 Cr|
|Day 5 [1st Mon]||Aug 15||₹5.98 Cr|
|Day 6 [1st Tue]||Aug 16||₹2.10 Cr|
|Day 7 [1st Wed]||Aug 17||₹1.70 Cr|
|Day 8 [2nd Thu]||Aug 18||₹1.60 Cr (approx)|
It is also important to note that the sudden boycott trend on social media may have had an impact on how well the movie did at the box office. Considering current trend, its highly unlikely that Raksha Bandhan will clash with Vijay Deverakonda's liger, that will release on 25th August 2022.
