Kaagaz is an upcoming Bollywood biographical drama film written and directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Salman Khan and Karan Johar under the banner of Salman Khan Films and Dharma Productions. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi and Monal Gajjar with Amar Upadhyay who plays the main antagonist. Actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik are happy that he is directed 'Kaagaz' has been completed long before the lockdown was announced, and said the Pankaj Tripathi plays the role of the protagonist will be a winner every time it is released. 'Kaagaz' is based on the life of Bharat Lal, also known as Lal Bihari of Azamgarh, who fought a legal battle for 18 years to prove that he is alive. The film is presented by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
Kaushik said he is grateful to Salman for 'believing' in the film and introducing himself as a presenter, marking the filmmaker's return to directing after six years. 'Salman heard the story while filming with him in Malta for 'Bharat' and I liked it immensely. 'Kaagaz' will again be a movie to remember about our combination, as is 'Tere Naam,' the actor told PTI in an interview. Kaagaz movie release date is not yet confirmed.
Kaagaz movie is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Salman Khan, Apoorva Mehta, Karan Johar, Bhaumik Gondaliya. 'Now, in the era of 'content is king', I have great content on my hand, absolutely ready with a great actor like Pankaj Tripathi, a great presenter at Salman Khan Films.' I am sure that either way, whenever we have a window to launch, 'Kaagaz' will create an impact and be a winner,' he added. The director said he is relieved that the filming of the film was completed long before the close began, otherwise they would have been 'stranded.'
'I would have had to wait for filming to complete, which would have taken time. But fortunately, filming is completely over. There are only two to three days of post-production left to make the final impression.' When asked if he was concerned that the audience's consumption pattern of entertainment might change after the pandemic, Kaushik said he is confident that things will return to normal.
'It will take time for the movies to return to normal after this pandemic, but I'm sure people will surely come back because entertainment is the only necessary diet after food in India.' 'But the public will have to maintain social distancing, and safety measures will be followed in post-coronavirus times for at least a year or until a vaccine with 100% safety and cure is found.'
The actor said that he is currently working on many scripts from home and is constantly in contact with writers for various projects. Kaushik also recently became a singer for a song written and conceptualized by lyricist Rashmi Virag to spread positivity amid the current global crisis.
