Jayeshbhai Jordaar Box Office Prediction Day 1: Ranveer Singh To Rake-In Decent Numbers

Jayeshbhai Jordaar Box Office Prediction Day 1: Ranveer Singh will arrive with Jayeshbhai Jordaar on Friday, four and a half months after the release of 83. The film had been in the works for some time and might have been released last year, but was postponed owing to the pandemic. Though YRF had the option of releasing it on OTT, they elected to release it theatrically first, as they did with Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and Bunty Aur Babli 2. What they accomplished was very admirable from that standpoint. 

Nonetheless, the film's trailer has received an average response. This film was expected to deliver something truly unique, yet the overarching tone is that of a social drama with a dash of humor tossed in. Yes, Ranveer has changed his appearance and now appears to be unrecognizable. However, because this appears to be more of a word-of-mouth film, the draw factor for the first-day crowd isn't quite there. Also, despite the fact that Arjun Reddy's Shalini Pandey is making her Bollywood big screen debut with the film, there isn't much buzz. 

Given the involvement of celebrities like Ranveer Singh and Aditya Chopra, the film may have opened to about ₹8-9 crores during the pre-pandemic period. However, given the strong start that many Hindi blockbusters have had, Friday receipts of ₹4-5 crores would be sufficient.
