Hindi Cinema has faced a huge loss this year by losing the most talented actors this year during the pandemic. We have lost some gems this year and they can never be forgotten.
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2020 has decided to pay special tribute to Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Sushant Singh Rajput by screening their special films at the film festival. To continue their legacy and contribution to the film industry IFFM will screen their films as a tribute.
The festival will be screening Irrfan Khan's 'Song of Scorpion' directed by Anup Singh, Rishi Kapoor's '102 Not Out' directed by Umesh Shukla, and Sushant Singh Rajput's 'Kedarnath' directed by Abhishek Kapoor at The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of Rishi Kapoor's father in 102 Not Out.
In a statement, festival Mitu Bhowmick Lange, said, "Artistes live on through their legacy. These were some fine men who did some incredible movies that resonated with everyone. It was important for us to celebrate their memory".
He further added that "We handpicked some great films for our audience so that we relive a little bit of their lives with them. Their loss to the film industry is irrevocable but the magic of their movies will continue to entertain generations hereafter".
Irrfan Khan died on April 29 this year in 2020 after a two-year-long battle with the neuroendocrine tumour, Rishi Kapoor died a day later on 30th April after battling cancer for one year whereas Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14. Though there is a CBI enquiry going on for late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case.
