After the super success of 'Kabir Singh', Shahid Kapoor is desirous to work in yet another Hindi remake of a Telugu film titled, 'Jersey'. Director and producer Karan Johar has reportedly acquired the remake rights of the film. It is based on cricket and the actor has wanting to do a sports film for a long time. However, Karan also spent a whopping amount on acquiring the Hindi remake rights of Vijay Deverakonda recently released film, 'Dear Comrade' and the filmmaker is desirous on having Shahid on board for the same. But given the fact that Dear Comrade failed to impress the audience at the box-office; Shahid is certainly testing the waters to make a final commitment on the same.
While, on the other hand, he has been quite instrumental in making sure that 'Jersey' gets a Hindi remake. But a source adds that Shahid has yet to commit and give a go ahead on the project. Shahid wants to be extra careful on what film he chooses next and that is very critical for him. He's still not committing to both the remakes - Dear Comrade and Jersey.
The actor reportedly is of the view that the film has a universal appeal and it should reach a wider audience.
