As per reports, Kartik Aaryan was supposed to play the male lead alongside Janhvi Kapoor in Dostana 2 movie. Debutant Lakshaya was also supposed to join the cast in Dostana 2 movie.
It has now been official, that Kartik Aaryan has now left the Dostana 2 movie due to 'creative differences' as mention by the actor himself. However, a source close to Dostana 2 movie has revealed that there is more to the story.
According to the source, Kartik Aaryan hadn't left the Dostana 2 movie project himself, in fact, he was expelled from it due to his unprofessional behavior. The source close to Dostana 2 movie said Kartik has been associated with Dostana 2 over the last 1 and a half years. The film went on floors and the team already shot for 20 days. But creative differences between Karan and him wouldn’t end owing to all the confusion regarding dates. After all the drama, they came to a mutual yet bitter decision of ending the collaboration".

Dostana 2 movie officials have also signaled that Dharma Productions will never work with Kartik Aaryan as he is irresponsible and unprofessional. The statement given by an anonymous source close to Dostana 2 movie says, "After numerous queries from Kartik’s talent agency KWAN, Dharma failed to get the schedule dates. There are Janhvi and Lakshya trying to accommodate dates amid their juggling schedules. The team was a mess after a point. Dharma Productions have now decided to officially not associate with Kartik ever in future."
Dostana 2 movie will be a sequel to the 2008 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film Dostana that starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra and was a commercial hit.
