Chup- Revenge of the Artist, directed by R. Balki, is off to a fantastic start domestically. Chup did well over the weekend thanks to word-of-mouth and was able to surpass $7 crore nett in three days of revenue after first being encouraged by the discounted ticket rates on National Cinema Day. It is a respectable but not exceptional number for a movie of this size. However, with ticket prices once more being slashed for Navratri on weekdays, the movie might receive the boost it needs.
Chup made a little over ₹3 crores on its first day of business, National Cinema Day, and another ₹2 crores on Saturday. The first weekend's earnings, which increased by a tiny amount on Sunday, came to ₹7.2 crores net. The movie has very little international revenue, thus it's home box office performance will determine its fate.
However, given that it was produced on a meager ₹10-crore budget, there is a good likelihood that it will be profitable. Given that the high-profile Vikram Vedha opens the following week, this week offers the best opportunity for the movie to generate the most revenue. Chup box office collection day 4 numbers are here.
|Day 1 [1st Fri]||Sept 23||₹3.06 Cr|
|Day 2 [1st Sat]||Sept 24||₹2.07 Cr|
|Day 3 [1st Sun]||Sept 25||₹2.02 Cr|
|Day 4 [1st Mon]||Sept 26||₹0.72 Cr|
Chup centres on a serial murderer who preys on movie critics and features Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, and Shreya Dhanwanthary. While the film has garnered conflicting reviews from reviewers, people seem to be enjoying it, which is leading to some favorable word-of-mouth.
