Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui had a respectable first week at the box office, grossing approximately ₹22 crores. It could have been closer to the ₹24 crore mark, but Spider-Man: No Way Home was released on Thursday, which impacted the collections. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui box office collections day 8 stood at ₹1.50 crores taking the total collections to ₹23.03 crores
Having said that, one would have expected a lot more from the film. Indeed, given its merits, even in the post-pandemic situation, ₹30-35 crores should have ideally come in. However, this was not the case, as weekend growth was adequate but not exceptional, and weekday hold was adequate but not optimal.
|Day 1 (Friday)||12/10||₹3.75 Cr|
|Day 2 (Saturday)||12/11||₹4.50 Cr|
|Day 3 (Sunday)||12/12||₹5.20 Cr|
|Day 4 (Monday)||13/12||₹2.15 Cr|
|Day 5 (Tuesday)||14/12||₹2.18 Cr|
|Day 6 (Wednesday)||15/12||₹2.05 Cr (approx)|
|Day 7 (Thursday)||16/12||₹1.70 Cr (approx)|
|Day 8 (Friday)||17/12||₹1.50 Cr (approx)|
|Total||₹23.03 Cr (approx)|
Following a ₹3.75 crore opening day, the weekend should have been in the ₹16-17 crore range, with Monday collections in the ₹2-2.5 crores range. None of this occurred, and as a result, the collection remained lower than expected.
