One of the most eagerly anticipated Indian movies, Brahmastra, is finally preparing for release in a few days. From conception to completion, the movie took over ten years to make. The course of the film started when writer-director Ayan Mukerji conceived the concept for it in 2012 while filming his wildly successful film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Advance ticket sales for the film have begun, and seats are selling like hotcakes. Brahmastra box office day 1 advance ticket sales, total screen count, & opening day collection report numbers are given here.
According to several reports, India's biggest movie of 2022 is scheduled to be played on 8000 screens worldwide, the most screens ever for an Indian movie, including 5000 in India and 3000 outside. The day before it was set to be released, on September 8, 2022, the movie was scheduled to have paid previews in the US.
The advance bookings for Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, have come as a pleasant surprise. The film now has the greatest advance bookings for a Hindi original since the epidemic, surpassing 83 two days before release. As of September 7, 12 a.m., 1.31 lakh tickets for Brahmastra's opening day had been sold through national chains; for the opening weekend, 2.50 lakh or more tickets had been sold through the same three chains. Among its competitors are the films Sultan, Sanju, Dangal, and Tiger Zinda Hai.
To rank among the best 10 advances of all time, Brahmastra must sell more tickets than Mission Mangal. Seelatest predicts that the overall number of advance ticket sales for Brahmastra would be between 2.80 lakh and 3.20 lakh tickets based on the rate at which tickets are selling. Given that Bollywood has been going through a lean period where movies haven't been able to earn decent numbers, Brahmastra will hope to land a slot in the Top 5, but hitting the Top 10 lists is also a really good performance.
Brahmastra is on track to break the previous Hindi box office record held by RRR, which took in ₹19.25 crores on its first day. With ₹14.11 crores at the box office on Day 1, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 by Kartik Aaryan holds the record for the highest day one in Bollywood. However, it currently appears that the Ranbir Kapoor picture will easily surpass this mark.
