Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, finished its first week with earnings of ₹170 crores. The seventh day's revenue for the Ayan Mukerji-directed film was Rs. 9.25 crores, bringing the total to just over ₹170 crores. Though the trend throughout the weekdays was a little less than anticipated, by the end of the second weekend, the movie ought to join the ₹200 crore club. The problem with Brahmastra is not its box office earnings but its big budget. Brahmastra box office collection day 8 report is here.

Brahmastra Likely To Suffer Losses

Talking about the budget again, the movie has a massive production cost exceeding 400 crores. This is a big problem for the makers as any film is supposed to cover more than 70 percent of its budget within the first week so it can run into the profit zone by the 2nd weekend.

Brahmastra has not even recovered 50 percent of its budget yet & it is highly unlikely that Ayan Mukerji's film will reach 300 crores even after completing the second weekend. Even if the movie makes into the 400 crore club after its overall run, the makers will still not earn any profit.

A perfect comparison to Brahmastra would be 2019's biggest box office bomb, Saaho. Prabhas-starrer Saaho earned more than ₹400 crores at the box office but its profit was almost negligible. The movie was made on a mammoth budget of almost ₹370 crores (including marketing costs) & it completely fell apart during the 2nd weekend.
