The distributors and theater owners have already suffered a lot due to the coronavirus pandemic. Cinemas that were closed for several months have now been allowed to open with 50 percent seating capacity. In such a situation, the audience has already reduced, due to which the theater owners will have less profit than before. In such a situation, distributors cannot afford to release two big films on the same date.
Bell Bottom VS F9: Release Dates May Not Clash
It is believed that Bell Bottom is being released on August 19, so Vin Diesel's F9 can be released at least two weeks after this. Distributors are discussing this right now, but it is clear that they do not want to make a loss deal, so the release date of F9 can be extended a little further.
According to a report from a leading daily, Rajendra Jayala, owner of Inox Cinema, says "if theaters do not open in Maharashtra, it will not make much difference. Maharashtra brings a profit of 25 percent for the film, but there will be profits from other places as well. However, we hope that theaters will open in Maharashtra soon." Regarding Bell Bottom VS F9, he said that there is a chance that the date of 'Fast and Furious 9' can be pushed as two films on the same day will not be good for anyone considering today's situation.
