Article 15 box office collection Day 6: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer "Article 15" is a socio-political drama film. Ayushmann Khurrana is in the lead role and the film is running strong at the box office on its sixth day of its release. However, the film is receiving a tough competition from Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer blockbuster 'Kabir Singh'.
The film's box office collection on Wednesday is Rs 3.48 crore. Thus, making a total box office collection till now is 31.16 crore in just six days of its release. The film had a great start as it made Rs 5.02 crore on the first day of its release.
Article 15 is a story about caste-based discrimination prevalent in India and is loosely based on the 2014 Badaun rape case. Ayushmann Khurrana plays an IPS officer Ayan Ranjan who gets his first posting in Lalgaon in Uttar Pradesh, where people wear their caste on their sleeves. The officer is optimistic about the future of the country until he sees the harsh reality of the society he lives in.
The film is written by Gaurav Solanki and Anubhav Sinha and also stars Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in significant roles.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Article 15 hit the screens on June 28.
