Article 15 Box Office Collection Day 21 - Ayushmann Khurrana starrer "Article 15" is nearing is theatrical end. Anubhav Sinha's latest directorial Article 15 is still going steady at the box office. Though new movies have been coming out week after week, Article 15 has held up well at the box office so far and is now heading for a strong finish in India. Released on June 28, the film is facing a tough competition from Shahid Kapoor's blockbuster Kabir Singh, Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 and the Hollywood much awaited film - The Lion King has been released today which may affect its box office collections. Article 15 is Ayushmann Khurrana's third highest grossing film in his career right behind 'AndhaDhun' and 'Badhaai Ho'.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film's box office collection was at around Rs 70 lakh on Wednesday and Rs 65 lakh on Thursday respectively, thus taking the total collection of the film reached up-to the Rs 60.78 crore. Article 15 box office collection was Rs 34.21 crores in its first week, Rs 18.22 crores in the second week and Rs 8.35 crore so far in his third week at the box office.
Article 15 has been inspired from true life events, including 2014 Badaun gang rape and 2016 Una flogging incident. Ayushmann Khurrana plays the role of IPS officer Ayan Ranjan in Article 15. Co-produced by Zee Studios and Benaras Media Works, the film is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on the basis of cast, religion, sex, race and place of birth.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and announced the updated figures saying, "#Article15 is maintaining well, despite new films and holdover titles grabbing a chunk of screens/shows and eating into its biz... [Week 3] Fri 1.25 cr, Sat 2.15 cr, Sun 2.15 cr, Mon 75 lacs, Tue 70 lacs, Wed 70 lacs, Thu 65 lacs. Total: ₹ 60.78 cr. India biz."
Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana, the film also features Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, M Nassar, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.
