Article 15 box office collection Day 18 - Ayushmann Khurrana starrer "Article 15" is doing steady business at the box office in its 3rd week. But it's not easy for the film as it faces tough competition from the big-budget films like Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh and Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 at the theaters, Article 15 shows substantial growth in week 3 box office collections. With the film still holding strong, trade experts are predicting that it should cross the 65-crore mark the end of its run at the box office. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film has received great response from critics too.
Article 15 had a decent opening at the box office collection with Rs 5.02 crore. Article 15 had a steady hold on its third weekend with a total box office collection of Rs 5.55 crore. However, the film made at around Rs 80 lakh on Monday, thus taking the total collection of the film reached upto the Rs 58.65 crore approx.
The storyline for the socio-political drama film, Article 15, has been inspired from true life events, including 2014 Badaun gang rape and 2016 Una flogging incident. Ayushmann Khurrana plays IPS officer Ayan Ranjan in the film, who gets posted in a small town in Uttar Pradesh. The young officer observes the discrimination prevalent in the society and tries to fight the system and is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.
Article 15 is written by Gaurav Solanki and Anubhav Sinha and also stars Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, M Nassar, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.
Ayushmann Khurrana starrer "Article 15" will hit the screens on June 28, 2019.
