Article 15 Box Office Collection Day 16 - Ayushmann Khurrana starrer "Article 15" starring Ayushmann Khurrana has continued to run smoothly at the box office. Even after the competition from the big-budget films like Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh and Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 at the theaters, Article 15 shows substantial growth in week 3 box office collections. With the film still holding strong, despite a tough competition from Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Kabir Singh' and the newly released 'Super 30' starring Hrithik Roshan, trade experts are predicting that it should cross the 65-crore mark the end of its run at the box office.

      Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Article 15 is Ayushmann Khurrana's third highest grossing film in his career right behind AndhaDhun and Badhaai Ho. The movie received immense critical acclaim upon its release and the positive response by the critics as well as the audience shows in the box office collections.

Article 15 had a decent opening at the box office collection with Rs 5.02 crore. Article 15 had a steady hold on its third Friday earning Rs 1.25 crore and the box office collections saw a good jump of around 80 percent the next day (i.e third Saturday, earning Rs 2.15 crore, thus taking a total up-to Rs 55.83 crore.

The storyline for the socio-political drama film, Article 15, has been inspired from true life events, including 2014 Badaun gang rape and 2016 Una flogging incident. Ayushmann Khurrana plays the role of IPS officer Ayan Ranjan in Article 15. The actor has been applauded by fans as well as critics for his performance as a serious cop. The film takes inspiration from true events such as the 2014 Badaun gang rape and the 2016 Una flogging incident and is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.

Article 15 is written by Gaurav Solanki and Anubhav Sinha and also stars Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, M Nassar, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh while tweeting about the collection of Article 15 wrote, "#Article15 jumps again... Inches closer to ₹ 60 cr... [Week 3] Fri 1.25 cr, Sat 2.15 cr. Total: ₹ 55.83 cr. India biz."
