Antim: The Final Truth, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and starring Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma, has had a slow start at the box office. According to early estimates, Antim box office collection day 2 will be in the range of ₹4.50 to 5.00 crore.
While the figures are higher than its competitor, Satyameva Jayate 2, they fall short of the trade's expectations. In terms of raw numbers, this is the second best start for a Bollywood film in the last 18 months after Sooryavanshi, but given the lack of competition, that isn't much to ask for.
An opening in the range of Rs 5 to 6 crores would have been a respectable result, and now it's all on the weekend growth and a hold on Monday for the film to put up a respectable total in the long run.
Day 1 (Fri) | 26/11 | ₹5 Cr |
Day 2 (Sat) | 27/11 | ₹6 Cr (approx) |
Total | ₹11 Cr (approx) |
On the plus side, both the audience reaction and the critic reviews are favourable, and the hope is that word of mouth will translate into ticket sales over the weekend. There was an increase in collections in the evening and night shows, which provides some hope because an increase in footfalls is said to be an indication of positive talk.

With an opening day of ₹5 crores, the film has plenty of room to make up for lost ground over the weekend due to positive buzz, and a wide release on close to 3000 screens with approximately 10,000 shows per day. To get closer to the weekend figure of ₹20 crore, Antim: The Final Truth must increase by 25 to 30 percent on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
