Adipurush Movie Update: Kriti Sanon opens up about playing Sita in her upcoming historical drama

A few days ago, Kriti Sanon confirmed being a part of Om Raut’s passion project Adipurush. Kriti Sanon will play the role of Sita, who is regarded as one of the most prominent figures of the Hindu religion.

According to reports, Kriti Sanon has been roped in for Adipurush. The actor will be starring opposite Baahubali star Prabhas in the movie. This is their first collaboration and the actor revealed her first impression of the star. Kriti Sanon recently opened up about her role as Sita. 

Kriti Sanon said, "The character Sita has a sentimental value to it and I want to make sure that I am doing justice to it. While I am overwhelmed to be playing the character, I do not want to portray anything that is not true."

Speaking on working on her Telugu, Kriti Sanon said that this is the first time that she’s doing a role with such extensive chroma work, and since it’s a Pan-India project, she had to work on her Telugu.

Talking about her rapport so far with co-star Prabhas and director Om Raut, Kriti said, "Prabhas seems shy at first but is a complete foodie who loves feeding his costars. While I am not worried about Om Raut bringing out my best, I am happy to be a part of the project."

As per reports, Kriti Sanon will be shooting for Adipurush for four days before heading to Arunachal Pradesh for Bhediya and will come back to continue shooting for the former project again.

She says that she has dedicated the months of March, April, and May to these two projects. Kriti Sanon will be playing the role of Sita in Adipurush.

According to Hindu texts, Sita is a Hindu goddess and one of the central figures in the Hindu epic, Ramayana, and its other versions. She is described as the daughter of Bhūmi (the earth) and the adopted daughter of King Janaka of Videha and his wife, Queen Sunayana.

She has a younger sister, Urmila, and the female cousins Mandavi and Shrutakirti. Sita is known for her dedication, self-sacrifice, courage, and purity.
