The trailer begins with the Indian team falling apart on the field. At the press conference, Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev declares that they are "here to win," eliciting laughter from the few reporters in attendance. Pankaj Tripathi, who plays PR Man Singh's manager, tells Kapil Dev, Captain, we won independence 35 years ago, but we have yet to gain respect.
The Indian team makes an incredible comeback in the second half of the trailer, with Dev hitting sixes after sixes, destroying dressing room windows, glasses, and car windscreens. Deepika Padukone, who plays his wife Romi Dev, is his off-field supporter.
