West Bengal Public Service Commission (PSCWB) has conducted Common preliminary exam for the Librarian posts. Commission holding the Librarian Preliminary exam on November 22, at allotted centres across the West Bengal, shall release official Answer key. A communication regards to the Librarian Answer key for 22 November (Sunday) exam would be made at pscwbapplication.in. Candidates appear for the WBPSC held Librarian written examination can check the availability of the provisional answer key at official site.
On Sunday, W.B Public Service Commission successfully conducts Common preliminary screening test for recruitment to the posts of Librarian in Govt. Engineering & Technological Colleges in the WBGS [Advt. no 17(2)/ 2019] and Govt. Colleges [Advt. no. 23 / 2019] under Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The preliminary examination carrying 100 Multiple-Choice based questions, carrying 1/3 of negative marking held successfully across the examination centres.
According to the reports, Mobile Phones, Bluetooth or any other communication device were not allowed inside the premises where the examination is being conducted. Candidates wearing face masks/ face shield and carrying personal Hand sanitizer, transparent water bottle were allowed inside the examination centre.
WBPSC Librarian Prelims exam 22 November 2020 consisted of 100 multiple choice based questions. Duration of the examination was 1 hour and 30 minutes. Objective type multiple-choice based questions were asked from the Librarian syllabus, prescribed by the WBPSC.
In the Preliminary written examination 80 per cent weightage was given to the knowledge of subject in the 'Library Science', 10 per cent on English language, and 10 per cent on 'Mathematical and Logical Reasoning' sections. There was negative marking of 1/4 marks for every wrong answer written by a candidate. The Commission may fix qualifying cut-off marks for all the categories of the vacancies in each level of examination, i.e. written & interview. Minimum qualifying marks in Interview for General category is 40%, OBC- 38%, SC- 35%, and ST- 30%. The qualifying marks for Differently abled candidates will be 2% less than what is prescribed for a particular category.
