The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Combined Defence Services Examination (2), 2020 at various Centres/ Venues all over India on 8th November, 2020 (Sunday). The Commission conducting the CDS 2 examination, would display official Answer Key and seek representations from the candidates. Commission would officially publish the UPSC CDS 2 Examination 2020 Answer key for English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. Following the UPSC-Examination-Answer Key continuous sections, candidate can check the question paper booklet code-wise Answer key from official-site.

Baed on reports, commission successfully conducts the omr based written examination for CDS (2) Exam 2020 for the candidates registered for the examination. The Examination was conducted at Examination centres across the country, following the social-distancing and standard operating procedure.

At far as the report from examination centre is concerned, the candidates were asked to produce the printout of their e-Admit Card at the allotted Venue for appearing in the Examination along with proof of Identity (as entered in Online Application) such as Aadhaar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving Licence/Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/ Central Government.

According to the report, Wearing of mask/ face cover was mandatory for all candidates. Candidates without mask or face cover were not allowed entry into the Venue. Candidates were allowed to bring their own hand sanitizer in transparent bottles. Besides above, candidates had to follow COVID-19 norms of ‘social distancing’ as well as ‘personal hygiene’ inside the Examination Halls or Rooms as well as in the premises of the Venue.

Representations: Candidates may submit representations, if any, on the questions asked in the Question Papers of this Examination to the Commission through the Online Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep) only by accessing the URL: ( during the period from 09th – 15th November, 2020 (till 6:00 PM), an official statement reads.

As far as the Question Paper Analysis is concerned- A total 120 questions were asked for the subject English, 120 questions for GK and as many as 105 questions from Elementary Mathematics. A time duration of 2 Hours was allotted to Elementary Mathematics, 2 hours for English paper and similar duration for the General Knowledge (GK) paper.

In UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2020 All papers contained objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The question papers of General Knowledge (GK) and Mathematics were set bilingually in Hindi and English. Candidates were need to attempt the CDS II exam 2020 in their own hand; they were not allowed to take help of a scribe. There is Negative Marking of 1/3rd marks for every wrong answers marked by a candidate.

English- Questions were asked from topics including Comprehension Passage, Spotting Errors, Sentence Rearrangement, Idioms & Phrases, Ordering of Sentences, Fillers, Synonyms & Antonyms, Parts of Speech, Spelling Mistakes, Transformation of Sentences and Reported Speech.

GK- Questions were from Indian History and Geography, General Science, Social Studies, History, Polity, Geography, Current Events & Affairs.
