Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has conducted the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) Examination (Preliminary) 2021 on August 27, 2021, at designated centers. The examination is reportedly held following the social-distancing and COVID-19 guidelines. As the examination is over, analysis along with the unofficial answer key of Paper 1, and 2 is also shared with the help of experts.
Based on the media reports, over 60,000 candidates had applied for the Odisha Civil Services Examination. Of which, approximately 65 percent appeared for the OCS examination on August 27, 2021. Reportedly, the overall difficulty level of the Prelims examination was moderate to difficult. However, the perspectives of some of the students were different.

According to the views of the candidates, Paper 1 consisted of a total of 100 multiple-choice questions whereas, paper 2 carried 80 questions based on General Studies.
The pattern of the examination was similar to last year. The candidates have to secure at least 33% marks in Paper 2 to qualify for the examination.
