JEE Main 2021 February 23 Analysis: 1st Shift Paper Answer Key, Asked Questions, Difficulty Level explained

JEE Main 2021 exam on February 23 begins in 331 cities across the country. The exam is held in Computer Based Mode for BE/BTech and blended mode for Paper 2 (B.Arch, B.Planning) in two shifts. After the examination, an analysis of the JEE Main 2021 paper 1 and 2 is hereby shared.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday, February 23 commences phase 1 examination of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2021. The Morning shift examination commenced at 9:00 AM in the morning and lasted at 12:00 noon for Paper 1 and Paper 2. JEE Main 2021 paper 2 is reportedly organized in pen-paper and computer-based mode for B.Arch and B.Planning admissions.

The examination is conducted following the social distancing and other Covid19 tackling guidelines released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. The candidates were seen wearing a face mask/cover inside the examination center. The registered candidates were provided detailed instructions through the released e-Call letters.

After the JEE Main Paper 1 and 2 examinations of phase 1 concludes NTA shall release the Answer key, response sheets of the candidates at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Ahead of the publication of the Answer key, an analysis of the 22 February paper is hereby shared.

As per the schedule defined by the National Testing Agency, the JEE (Main) 2021 exam will be held in four sessions. The session-1 examination is scheduled to be held in February-2021. On Tuesday NTA commenced the examination for session 1 in Computer Based mode for paper 1 and pen-paper mode for Paper 2A.

As per the reports are coming in the 23 February 1st shift examination is conducted at different centers located in 331 cities throughout the country and abroad, including 17 in Odisha, from today to February 26. The exams are scheduled to be held in two sittings each day from 9 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 6 pm.

In JEE Main 2021 examination, as many as 6,61761 lakh candidates have registered for Engineering Paper 1 (BE/ B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch, (B.Planning) examination. The examination is being held at 852 exam centers across the country. Paper 1 of JEE (Main) 2021 will be held in February 2021 followed by the next three sessions in March, April, and May 2021.

According to the National Testing Agency, the display of question paper attempted by the candidate and Answer keys for inviting challenges on NTA website to be displayed on the NTA website in due course.

JEE Main 22 Feb Shift 1 Analysis:

JEE Main 2021 Paper 2 is reportedly held in “Pen-Paper and Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode. The first shift exam was held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (IST). 

Paper Difficulty Level: According to the students the level of paper 2 was Easy to Moderate. JEE Main paper 2 A and Paper 2B is conducted for Architecture and Planning respectively in the first shift. 

Mathematics Questions: After the examination, a student said that the choices in the Mathematics section were a welcome thing. "The introduction of choice in the numerical section was a welcome change. It helped surely. But the difficulty level of the questions was the same. It was just that the part it was asked from was not very strong for me so I was able to manage. Overall the paper was good and easier than previous years".

Of the total 25 questions of Maths, most of the students have shared that they have attempted all. Many students have done at least 10 questions right in the MCQ section.

Paper 2A (B. Arch): Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only and Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen & paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size.

Paper 2B (B. Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II), and Planning Based Questions (Part-III) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.

As many as 82 questions were asked from the candidates- 

Mathematics (Part I)- 20 questions- Easy

Aptitude Test (Part II)- 50 questions- Moderate

Drawing Test (Part III)- 02 questions- Moderate

JEE Main 23 Feb Shift 2 Analysis: The exam for the second shift is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (IST). Analysis will be available after the 2nd shift Examination is over.
