Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc Bangalore) on February 14 conducts Joint Admission test for Masters 2021 in Online, Computer Based mode. IIT JAM 2021 is conducted for seven papers in two shifts i.e Morning session and Afternoon Session. After the examination is over, analysis is provided of the first shift for Biotechnology, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics subjects and second shift for Chemistry, Economics, Geology & Mathematics.
According to the reports, the IIT JAM 2021 is held successfully for the Morning session from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM at the designated centres. The examination is organized following the social-distancing and guidelines laid by the Institute in compliance with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. The applicants were allowed entry only wearing face mask/cover inside the examination hall.
The first shift Session 1 examination began at 9.30 AM and lasted at 12.30 PM. The examination is held for Biotechnology (BT), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). All the papers of JAM 2021 were entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
Based on the official notice, the IISc Bangalore will intimate the publication of official Answer key of IIT JAM 2021. After receiving the challenges, the Institute will declare the IIT JAM 2021 results on March 20, 2021, at https://jam.iisc.ac.in.
IIT JAM 14 February Shift 1 Paper Analysis:
The duration of Shift 1 Computer-based test was 3 hours. The medium for all the test papers will be English only. There were a total of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The entire paper was divided into three sections, A, B, and C.
Section–A contains a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) involving 10 questions of one mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one choice is the correct answer. Candidates can mark the answer by clicking the choice.
Section–B contains a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) carrying two marks each. Each MSQ is similar to MCQ but with the difference that MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice(s) out of the four given choices. The candidate gets full credit only if he/she selects all the correct answer(s) only and no wrong answers. Candidates can mark the answer(s) by clicking the choice(s).
Section–C contains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions involving 10 questions of one mark each and 10 questions of two marks each. For these NAT type questions, the answer is a signed real number, which needs to be entered using the virtual numeric keypad on the monitor. No choices will be shown for NAT questions.

Negative Marking: In Section-A (MCQ), a wrong answer will result in negative marks. For each wrong answer to 1 mark questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted, and similarly, for each wrong answer to 2 marks questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted. In Section-B (MSQ), there are no negative and no partial marking provisions. There is no negative marking in Section-C (NAT) as well.

IIT JAM 2021 Shift 2 Analysis:
The Second shift Computer Based examination is lined up from 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM for the subjects Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), and Mathematics (MA). Analysis of the 2nd Shift will be available only after the examination is over.
