Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on December 26 organizes Specialist Officer (SO) Prelims examination. The examination is conducted in two shifts i.e Morning and Afternoon sessions in computer-based mode. Candidates appear for the IBPS SO Prelims being held on 26 December can check out the paper Analysis and review of the Morning/ Afternoon shift exam.
IBPS Specialist Officer (SO) Online Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 125 marks will be conducted online. This test is conducted in a time duration of 2 hours consisting of three sections- English Language, Reasoning, and General Awareness or Quantitative Aptitude (for IT Officer, Agriculture Officer, HR/ Personnel / Marketing Officer etc).
According to the reports, candidates coming out of the centre name the overall paper level as Moderate level. The Questions from English section were a bit easy, however the reasoning questions were little tricky comparative to the General Awareness section.
It should be noted by the candidates that for each wrong answer there would be a penalty. One-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

Qualifying Marks: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination. Penalty for Wrong Answers There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.
