The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) on Monday, August 23 commences conducting the combined National Eligibility Test (NET), Agriculture Research Service (Prelims), and Senior Technical Officer (T-6) Examination. The examination in Computer Based Mode is reportedly held successfully at all the designated centers. As the examination is over, here below is the analysis provided with the help of exam experts and feedback received from the candidates.
According to the reports, ASRB NET 2021 examination is being conducted for 1-57 disciplines along with ARS and STO posts. The overall level of 23 August 2021 held NET was moderate to difficult level. It is reported that some of the subject-specific questions are asked from applications, rather than of direct theoretical syllabi. However, students with an average preparation could attempt over 110 to 120 questions.
Based on the proposed examination pattern, in ASRB NET 2021, as many as 150 objective type and multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are asked. The total marks in the examination are 150, as each question carries an equal and 1 mark. The candidates are given 120 minutes to answer all the questions. Following the marking scheme, each correct response awards 1 mark to the candidate. Whereas, for each wrong answer there is a provision of negative marking of 1/3.

It should be noted that ASRB reserves the right to upload the official answer key of the combined NET, ARS, and STO examinations. It is expected that the recruitment board will soon notify regarding the publication of the provisional answer key at the ASRB NET Examination 6 portal. Candidates are further asked to keep visiting the website asrb.org.in for the latest and exam-related announcements.
Earlier, due to the prevailing situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the NET-2021, ARS (Preliminary) Examination-2021, and STO (T-6) Examination was postponed. The examination was supposed to be held from June 21 to 27, 2021. Then it was notified that the revised schedule of examination will be notified on asrb.org.in at least 15 days before the examination. Subsequently, on July 12, the recruitment board issued the revised schedule. The examination is now proposed to be conducted from August 23 to 27, 2021.
