Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on Sunday extended the last date for fresh Admissions into UG, PG, Diploma and PG Diploma programmes. University notified through the website ignou.ac.in, for the extension in the last date for IGNOU Admissions 2020-21. Canddiates who wish to take Admissions in the offered programmes are having chances to Register online for the June 2020 academic session, up to 15 November 2020.
Taking to its social media handle, IGNOU writes "The last date for Fresh Admissions has been extended till 15th November, 2020. (For Programmes other than Certificate and Semester based Programmes)". IGNOU is facilitating Admission opportunities to the students who have not taken admission due to Covid-19 or the other reason.
The extension in the last date of submission of online form, payment of admission fee, from here will be considered as November 15, 2020. IGNOU extends the last date in view of the delay in declaration of board examinations' result and provides another opportunity to desirous candidates to enroll for the June/ December 2020 session admissions (except for Certificate and Semester system courses).

Earlier on October 29, Indira Gandhi National Open University decided to postpone the December 2020 scheduled Term End Examinations, to the February 2021. University extended the last date for submission of Assignments, Project Report and Field Work for the TEE December 2020 exams to the Dec 15, 2020.
IGNOU fresh Admission registration can be made at IGNOU Samarth Portal. Students can enroll for Admission into first year of Under Graduate, Post Graduate, M.Phil, Ph.D and PG Diploma courses, by filling the Registration form required fields such as- User Name (Used for login), Applicant's Full Name (As per Educational Documents), Applicant's Email Address (Please use your own email as this will be used for all official communication), Password (Minimum 6 characters) and Mobile Number etc.
Here's the step by step guide for Fresh Admission Application to IGNOU:
Go to the IGNOU Samarth Portal or open the URL (ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in)
Complete Registration process (which creates ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ for you).
Your ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ is informed through SMS and email.
Re-login to the system using your ‘User Name’ and ‘Password.’
Fill Admission Form online.
Upload your recent passport size Photograph (maximum size 100KB in JPG format).
Upload your specimen signature (maximum size 100KB in JPG format).
Upload scanned copies of the relevant documents (maximum size 200KB each document in JPG/PDF format).
Read the instruction and declaration carefully by clicking the ‘Declaration’ box.
Preview your data and confirm details.
Make payment of Fee through the Credit/Debit card/Net Banking.
Payment confirmation message is sent to you through SMS and email.
Press Next button to see the form preview.
