Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU on Thursday holding its 34th Convocation program virtually, awarded Degrees, Certificates, and Diplomas to over 2.37 lakh students. On this occasion, Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal addressing the students congratulated them. University awarded Gold Medals to over 25 students in different curriculums at UG, PG & Professional levels.
Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, Professor Nageshwar Rao addressing the students, faculty members awarded the degrees, diplomas to the successful candidates. Professor Rao signed a Gazette of the National Open University on this occasion.

"Over 30-40 lakh students are studying in the Indira Gandhi National Open University and it is a great achievement. Several countries are not even having a total population of this size. Over 200 Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees programme are being offered in the University and its really a matter of pride, I congratulate IGNOU", Chief Guest and Union Education Minister said in his address.
Speaking on the achievements of IGNOU, Dr. Pokhriyal said that from 2014 onwards the University has been recording a continuous increase in the number of students taking admissions. IGNOU has also started facilitating teachers' education in Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, and it's a great achievement, he added.
