Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama on Wednesday said that schools will be reopening from 23rd November in the state. On being asked on resuming of physical classes in schools and colleges in the Gujarat state, Minister in his statement said that "Classes for standard 9 to 12 will resume from 23rd November. Classes for final year college students will also resume from 23rd November". Earlier it was being presumed that state Government will surely allow schools to operate for Physical classes after Diwali festival.
The Gujarat State Government will soon issue detailed guidelines at the District Administration level along with the SOP of Government of India, which will be followed while resuming classes in Schools and Colleges, Minister says. SOP of Govt of India will be followed for the schools reopening in Gujarat state, said Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.
With this latest unfold, now Government and Private schools are allowed to reopen the schools for physical classes for Class 9, 10, 11 and 12 students. Similarly, state Government Colleges, Private Universities and Colleges are also allowed to resume physical classes for final year / semester students.
According to the News Agency ANI, the minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama on Wednesday interacted with the media personnel. He answered the questions on state government's future plan on reopening of school and colleges. The school, colleges and all other academic institutions are shut in the state since March 22, 2020, following the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. However, easing the norms, MHA in its recent guidelines has left the decision on state governments on re-opening of institutions.

Following the Unlock-5 guidelines, several states and Union Territories have allowed reopening of the Government and Private schools. States including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Union Territories including Chandigarh has allowed the schools to function for physical classes.
